Georgia Guide Dog Users
139 Altama Connecter #188
Brunswick, GA 31525
August2010
Dear Fellow Guide Dog User,
The next in-person Georgia Guide Dog Users membership meeting will be
Saturday August 7 2010 from 12:00 until 1:30 PM. We are meeting in
conjunction with the annual convention and conference of the Georgia Council
of the Blind, this year near Helen, Georgia at the Unicoi Lodge and
Conference Center.
This will be a lunchtime meeting and we will gather in a neighboring room or
quieter part of Unicoi's dining room. A buffet lunch will be available and
volunteers will be on hand to help.
There will be GGDU projects and business to discuss, and we will be electing
officers for the organization for a two-year term.
Our guest speaker will be Helen area veterinarian Julie Roche. Major Roche
is a member of the Army Reserves and has served as a military veterinarian
in the US and in several other countries. She will be sharing her
experiences and knowledge of the very important roles dogs play in the
military. Having spoken to Julie on the phone, I know hers will be a
fascinating subject.
I hope you will be able to join me and other GGDU members on august 7, if
not for the entire GCB conference and convention. Below are details about
the convention and room rates. If you have questions about our GGDU meeting
please contact me by phone or email.
